3 Days in Galveston


Day 1: Sand, Sun & Island Tour

10am - 12:15pm

Stroll along the beach and relax while lounging with your toes in the sand at East Beach. This beach park features a newly renovated outdoor pavilion complete with a boardwalk, concessions and an entertainment stage. Additional amenities include umbrella and beach chair rentals, restrooms, showers and volleyball courts. 12:30pm - 1:30pm

Enjoy lunch at Shrimp-n-Stuff, a local restaurant known for affordable and delicious seafood, po-boys, gumbo and salads. Locals and visitors alike have supported this eatery's reputation for its value, freshness and flavor and it has been an island mainstay since it opened for business in 1976.

2pm - 3pm

Walk back in history at the 1886 Bishop's Palace - a nationally recognized architectural landmark. The Bishop's Palace opens its massive front doors to reveal an interior of equally impressive beauty. 

3pm - 5pm

Dinner aboard the climate-controlled Colonel Paddlewheel as you take a leisurely cruise on Galveston Bay. 



Day 2: Sand, A Day of Exploration in the Wild and in the Sky!

10am - 12:45pm

Spend the morning exploring Moody Gardens and experience all its unique attractions - 242 acres of botanical gardens, The Rainforest Pyramid, a 3-D IMAX and a world-class Aquarium.

1pm - 2pm

Lunch at Jimmy's on the Pier, a full-service restaurant with one of the best views in Galveston. The eatery is fully-enclosed for the winter, with a fireplace and heater to keep you cozy through the cooler months. On warmer days, the deck opens all the way around to offer panoramic views of our amazing gulf. (Call ahead for groups.)


Experience a live show at The Grand 1894 Opera House, a world-class theater delivering a diverse, star-studded season, continuing the legacy that has been part of their history for over 100years.



Day 3: The Historic Strand District and Pier 21

10am - 12pm 

Meander and shop along the Historic Downtown Strand District. Antique lovers, art aficionados and shoppers of all kinds will discover beautiful and interesting objects at Galveston Island's myriad of shops. Be sure to indulge yourself at La King's Confectionary, a 1920's soda fountain serving malts, shakes, ice cream sodas, ice cream, candies and coffee.

12pm - 1pm

Lunch at Farley Girls. They serve up "a little bit of everything" with an eclectic menu made up of house favorites. Here you'll find house-made soups, salads, paninis, sandwiches, pizzas, and plenty of other hot stuff, all made from scratch to get you through your day, deliciously.

1:30pm - 2:30pm

Tour the Ocean Star Oil Rig Museum - the only one of its kind!

3pm - 5pm

Explore Pier 21 - a waterfront entertainment and dining area located on Galveston's historic harbor in the Historic Strand seaport area.


Treat yourself to dinner at Gaido's - an island treasure celebrating over 100 years in Galveston! Tender pork chops, mouthwatering steaks, fresh seafood and award-winning pecan pie are just a few of the stars at this iconic restaurant.
