Seven Delicious Seafood Dishes
I love seafood. I love to eat it. I love to cook it. But sometimes its better to let the pros do the cooking. Here’s my guide to some of the best seafood dishes served at island restaurants.
Gulf Red Snapper at BLVD Seafood
When at BLVD, I almost always get the Broiled Gulf Red Snapper. Chef Lopez prepares it perfectly. It's fun to pull out my phone and see where dinner was caught. This night, my meal was caught by Captain Garret King on the King's Pride using squid for bait. Just google Gulf Wild to do the same.
Crab, Avocado & Mango Tower at Willie G's
Is it food or art? Willie G's take the crab tower to new heights by mixing sweet, spice and crab into something cool and delicious.
Seafood Campechana at Fish Tales
Fish Tale's spin on Spanish Campechana includes shrimp, fish, calamari, pico de gallo, avocado, lime and clamato juice. It's so refreshing and tasty!

Mango Cajun Salmon at Yaga's Cafe
If you want something healthy or a light lunch, this salad is great. The salmon is blackened perfectly and compliments the mixed greens, tomatoes, almonds and mango vinaigrette.
Shrimp Kisses at Fisherman's Wharf
Shrimp Kisses are a Galveston legend. How can a shrimp stuffed with jalapeno jack cheese then wrapped in bacon and fried not be good? And, the bed of thinly-sliced onion rings are the perfect accompaniment.
Shrimp & Pasta at Sapori Ristorante
Sapori serves shrimp and pasta three ways. This night I ordered Gamberi Alla Panna, which is shrimp with a cream sauce. You can get the same with a marinara sauce or a light garlic and lemon sauce. All are delicious. Remember they are only open for dinner and you must bring your own bottle of wine.

Blackened Texas Redfish Ponchartrain at Saltwater Grill
The Saltwater Grill menu describes this as a Lonestar classic with a French Quarter twist! Whoever wrote that, stuck it. And, the chef sticks it every time I order it. The fish is flaky, the shrimp are plump, and the crawfish add a nice zing.
