One of over 200 historical markers on the island, this marker highlights the life of Bernardo de Galvez. The marker was erected in 1986 by the Texas Society, Daughters of the American Revolution.

“Bernardo de Galvez 1746-1786, supported the American Revolution by defeating the British along the Gulf Coast. He had Texas Longhorn cattle driven to Louisiana to aid his campaign – thus giving Texas a connection with the American Revolution.”
