I felt transported in time to 1911...beautiful woodworking, breathtaking chandaliers, and marble floors. I loved how they maintained the historic feel of the hotel, right down to the old-time mail chute and the big brass mail box in the lobby. The heated pool and hot-tub was outstanding...lots of palm trees and foliage, plenty of lounge chairs and a wonderful swim-up bar for cocktails. Had drinks in the elegant bar in the lobby before we dined at Rudy and Pacos, and enjoyed a generous breakfast buffet in the hotel resteraunt, Brenardos. Overall, I had a wonderful time and everytime I return to Galveston, I will stay at the Galvez. | | Erin | 4/17/2008 10:33:00 AM | Beautiful hotel!
