About The Models
Master model ship builder Allen LeCornu began scratch-building models at the age of ten. LeCornu's attention to the finest details from the smallest knot or hand-cast cannon, to intricate hand-painted details, have created Class A museum quality ship models that are in collections from coast to coast. He is particularly interested in ships in the Admiralty Style and the photos below detail some of his works. A Class A scratch-built model is defined by the Mystic Seaport Museum as a model built entirely from scratch materials by the builder with no commercially fabricated parts, except cordage, chain and belaying pins.
Featured in several publications and television programs, Allen LeCornu is a recognized master model ship builder who also works on restorations of models from museums and collectors across the country.
