The purpose of the Galveston Island Convention & Visitors Bureau (GICVB) is to advance the economic vitality of tourism on Galveston Island, the number one attraction for visitors outside of the state of Texas.

Under the direction of the Park Board of Trustees, the GICVB promotes leisure and business travel, special events and the Galveston Island Convention Center at the San Luis Resort.   As a destination marketing organization, the Galveston Island CVB supports the interests of Galveston’s visitor industry as a whole. 

The GICVB is solely funded by 3% of hotel occupancy tax used exclusively for the purpose of encouraging, promoting and fostering convention and tourism development on the Island.
