At Texas A&M University at Galveston and its new Sea Life Facility, sea turtles of many species now have a place to recover while awaiting release to the Gulf of Mexico. Though primarily charged with conducting marine research, the facility will also serve as a resource for recovery of turtles who have been damaged or are at risk. The TAMUG Sea Life Facility offers a place, where the public can learn more about the lives of and threats to sea turtles, and what they can do to help. Turtles can be viewed from the facility's outreach center before they are returned to the waters of the Gulf of Mexico.
