Rosenberg Library announced its newest exhibit: Galveston Photography, 1860-1890. The exhibit will include the earliest known photographs of downtown Galveston which were taken by Sache & Potter Studio in 1861, just before the Civil War. Read more.

September 2018 - Vintage Pepper Mill from the Balinese Room

During the month of September, Rosenberg Library will exhibit a pepper mill from the legendary Galveston nightclub, the Balinese Room. This ca. 1950 souvenir was recently donated to the library by Louise Hagood. Read more.

August 2018 - 1850 Galveston Bay Survey Post

During the month of August, Rosenberg Library will exhibit a cedar post used in the first U.S. Coastal Survey of Galveston Bay in 1850. This artifact was found at Flanders Station and was donated to the library by S.M. Wilcox in 1925. Read more.

Keeper Ling Within a Mile of the Jetties

Our bay/jetty trips produced excellent catches on shark, especially bonnethead sharks. We also found larger stingray and a keeper ling within a mile of the jetties this morning. Read more.
