The Galveston County Museum is coming soon to 722 Moody Avenue in Galveston. The museum will be inside the building that was once home to the Galveston Civil Courthouse. The building is still used for several county offices.
The Museum will feature exhibits from around the area and will even host travelling exhibits for periods of time. The Museum is sure to be a destination as soon as it opens and we're sure you'll want to visit time and time again.
Bounded to the South by the Gulf of Mexico, Galveston County and Galveston Island claim historical reports of Indians, Freebooters, Pirates, and even illegal gambling. The County includes other towns like Texas City, Port Bolivar, Clear Lake Shores, Crystal Beach, Jamaica Beach, Kemah, Hitchcock, Alta Loma, Dickinson, League City, La Marque, Algoa, Arcadia, and Friendswood. Each has its own place in the history of the County.
