Artifacts. Stories.: Battle of Galveston Part 1, The Cannon Balls - E3

Updated 83 days ago

In Episode Three of Galveston.com’s new video series, Artifacts. Stories., George Osborne and I see cannon ball damage from the Civil War on a downtown building and Eleanor Barton shows cannon balls on display at the Rosenberg Library.  This is the first of three episodes about the Battle of Galveston that began on January 1, 1863.

About nine months ago, I made a personal commitment to learn more of Galveston's colorful history. I understand that this is not a cinematic work of art. I'm simply sharing what I learned. If you have any suggestions for improvement - or story ideas! -  please post them in the Disqus comments below.

If you missed the first episode, The Wooden Paver, click here or the second episode, The Panoramic Sketch, click here.

As I add more episodes, you'll be able to find them at galveston.com/stories.

We are also publishing Rosenberg Treasures of the Month at galveston.com/rosenbergtreasures.

If you're checking into a hotel, ask if they have Galveston.com TV.  We also have several streaming apps available for download in your App Store.
