Fishing Reports: Tons of Tuna, Vermillion Snapper

Late-May fishing with Galveston Party Boats has been successful and FUN, whether on the shorter 4- and 8- hour trips or the longer, offshore 12- and 30- hour trips.

This past week, the Cavalier and Captain Sam Hardeman made the 4- hour trip and returned with a very nice catch of red drum and sharks. This is a great morning or afternoon trip to take that still allows for other fun on Galveston Island!

Our 8-hour trip on the New Buccaneer with Capt. Matt Smith reported a great catch of 474 angelfish, 2 amberjacks, 1 king mackerel, and 1 barracuda.
 
The 12-hour deep sea trips have not disappointed. On May 26th, the New Buccaneer with Capt. Matt Smith returned with a great catch of 528 vermillion snapper, 5 lane snapper, 1 ling, 3 amberjack, 10 sharpnose shark, 3 African pompanos and 3 scamp grouper.
 
Then on May 28th, the last vermillion snapper trip until July 21, the New Buccaneer with Capt. Matt Smith reported a catch of 546 vermillion snapper, 1 Warsaw grouper (80 pounds), 7 amberjacks, and1 cobia (ling).

Finally, the 30-hour safari trips saw lots of action and LOTS of tuna! The trip on May 25th returned with 20 yellowfin tuna, 174 blackfin tuna, 4 skipjack tuna, 7 bonito, 486 vermillion, snapper, 13 amberjacks, 7 Almaco jack, 6 scamp grouper, 4 barracuda, and 3 dolphins.
