3 Great Ways to Celebrate Mom!

Updated 431 days ago

Mother’s Day is all about treating those important ladies in your life right! One of the most memorable ways to do that is by creating new memories with the women who have taught you the most. On Galveston Island there are a bunch of great things to do with your mom, wife, or other leading lady in celebration of her! Take a peak below at our sample itinerary to make the most of your time together.

Brunch at Hotel Galvez
Everyone knows that the secret to a great day is by starting it off with a lavish brunch! Call the Hotel Galvez and make a reservation for a dining experience that your mom won’t soon forget. Brunch at Hotel Galvez is an opulent event that ranges from fresh seafood to hot carving stations and of course decadent desserts. Even the ice sculptures that line the tables are something to be admired!

Spa Treatment at the San Luis
You might want to give your mom a heads up before brunch so she doesn’t get too stuffed to enjoy one of the spa treatments at the San Luis. Treatments at the San Luis spa include classics like manicures and pedicures but with an island twist. Treat your special lady to their soothing “Seashell Pedicure” or the “Ultimate Moroccanoil Manicure.” A full list of their services can be found here and be sure to keep an eye out for any Mother’s Day specials that might pop up!

After getting pampered at the spa, the next best thing to do is head to downtown Galveston to get some shopping in. Post Office Street is a vibrant part of island life that offers everything from antique stores to trendy clothing boutiques. If you and your mom get thirsty while taking in the sites and great murals the area has to offer, no big deal because there are also many restaurants and cafes to choose from whether you fancy a margarita or a coffee.

Painting at Clay Cup Studio
To cap off your day together grab an apron at Clay Cup Studios and pick out a ceramic to paint for each other. I’ve been told a time or two by my own parents that no matter your age, a hand crafted gift is always appreciated. The painting studio has a wide variety of things to choose to paint ranging from mugs to canvas. They even have glass fusion and silk scarf painting for those that want to try something new! Clay Cup Studio is located just off of Post Office Street so you don’t even have to worry about moving the car.

So, what do you think? Ready to thank the special ladies in your life by creating new memories on Galveston Island this Mother’s Day?
