10 Ways to Ensure a Happy Thanksgiving

Updated 1148 days ago

Ah, the joy of the holidays.

It’s that time of year when we get to reconnect with friends and family we haven’t seen in months, or even years. It’s a wonderful time to relax, eat good food and share beautiful memories. Or is it?

If the truth be told, the holidays can be a pain in the you-know-who, thanks in no small measure to some folks who just don’t get it. They are family, so you’d think they would get with the program by now.

But they don’t. Time after time, they just manage to screw things up.

Perhaps they should consider the 10 Ways To Ensure a Happy Thanksgiving with the Family:

  1. Arrive on time (There’s nothing worse than holding up dinner).
  2. Bring the dish you were asked to contribute (The hosts won’t like it if you change the menu).
  3. Wait until you arrive to start drinking. (Translation: Don’t arrive drunk!)
  4. Laugh off the rude comments made by Uncle Joe.
  5. Leave your pet(s) at home.
  6. Don’t bring an uninvited guest.
  7. Avoid political topics.
  8. ress appropriately (No short-shorts,, cut-up jeans or controversial T-shirts).
  9. Don’t get drunk.
  10. Don’t get drunk.
