Following the tradition of ride innovation that Schlitterbahn is known for, the new Galveston Island park is the first convertible waterpark with an entire area that can be opened or closed for indoor / outdoor year-round operation. During the Heated Indoor Season, the Wasserfest area is converted to an indoor waterpark and features a dozen heated attractions. (The water and air are always in the 80s!)

Hours:
2008 Heated Indoor Season (Winter Schedule):
The Heated Indoor Season is February 16 - April 20 and September 27 - December 31, 2008. The park is open on weekends (Saturdays and Sundays) and select holidays from 10am - 5pm.
2008 Summer Season:
The season kicks off April 26th and runs through September 21, 2008. The park opens at 10am and closes at either 6pm, 7pm, or 8pm.
2008 Special Days of Operation:
• Spring Break (March 15-23)
• Good Friday (March 21)
• Thanksgiving Weekend (November 28-30)
• Christmas Break (December 26-31)

** Two-day admission is great value if you are planning two trips to Schlitterbahn Galveston Island Waterpark. Two-day tickets do not have to be used on consecutive days, but must be used in the same year and season for which they were purchased.
Weather Policy:
If you are concerned about the weather on the day of your visit, check out the forecast before you come by clicking weather. In the event of rainstorm, Schlitterbahn attractions remain open and the Wasserfest convertible section will become enclosed for indoor operation. If there is lightning in the area, guests will be asked to exit the water until the lightning passes, and then the rides will reopen. Since the waterpark will remain open even on rainy days, we do not offer rain checks or refunds.
Driving Directions:
From Houston, travel Interstate 45 South (Gulf Freeway) to the Galveston Causeway. Soon after crossing the Causeway, exit 1-A to the right and travel approximately .5 miles to 61st St. Turn right onto 61st St. and travel approximately 1 mile. Turn right (west) onto Stewart Rd. and continue for approximately .4 miles. At this point, there will be a fork in the street - with Stewart Rd. continuing to the left and Jones Dr. continuing to the right. TAKE JONES DR. for approximately .8 miles to Hope Blvd. Turn right (west) onto Hope Blvd.
From Bolivar Peninsula (Crystal Beach), travel approximately 10.7 miles to the Bolivar Ferry. Upon exiting the Ferry, take Ferry Road (SR-87) approximately 1.4 miles to Seawall Boulevard. Bear right onto Seawall Boulevard. Soon Seawall Boulevard merges into Broadway. Turn left (south) onto 6th St. (University Blvd.) and immediately bear right (southwest) onto Seawall Boulevard. Travel west along Seawall Blvd. for approximately 5.5 miles to 81st Street. Turn right onto 81st St. (which will soon change to Jones Dr.) and continue for approximately .9 miles. Turn left (west) onto Hope Blvd.
