Grammy-Nominated Producer/Musician Sings “Galveston” in Island’s New Tourism Campaign
Last week Galveston officials unveiled a new tourism video featuring a remake of the song "Galveston" made popular by Glen Campbell in the 1960s. Today, the Galveston Island Convention & Visitors Bureau announced that the vocalist singing the updated version of the song is Grammy-nominated producer/musician Jean-Yves Ducornet.

Texas’ largest Mardi Gras celebration will kick off this Friday in Galveston, expected to attract more than 300,000 attendees for a two-week carnival of lavish parades and parties amid the island’s Victorian architecture and views of the Gulf Coast. The 2013 event – taking place Feb. 1-12 – is scheduled to be the biggest Mardi Gras! Galveston celebration yet with 38 concerts, 24 parades, 20 balcony parties and five elegant masked balls.

Mardi Gras! Galveston Releases Parade Schedule for 102nd Celebration Feb. 1-12
The 102nd celebration of Mardi Gras! Galveston will take place February 1-12, 2013 with 24 parades, several of which are new. The majority of parades will be held in Galveston’s downtown Mardi Gras entertainment district while others will travel along the beachfront on Seawall Boulevard.
