Moody Gardens Launches New Aquarium Adventure
Beginning this May, visitors to Moody Gardens’ popular summertime attraction Palm Beach will be able to enjoy a brand new, interactive, multi-level play structure.

Birding 101 Every Second Saturday at Moody Gardens
Galveston is home to hundreds of species of birds. Egrets, herons, ducks, hawks and gulls are a few who spend time on the Island. Those interested in learning more about area birds are invited to Moody Gardens for Birding 101. Birding 101 is a series of free classes designed to educate and excite people about the tremendous variety of bird life in the area. Birding 101 classes, held on the second Saturday of every month, teaches the basics of birding.

Titanic: The Artifact Exhibition at Moody Gardens, Beginning January 26, 2008
On a calm April night in 1912, the world’s largest ship, Titanic, sank after colliding with an iceberg on her maiden voyage. On board were 2,228 passengers including; titans of commerce and industry, artists and movie stars, senior members of governments, immigrants dreaming of a new life, mothers, fathers, sons and daughters. More than 1,500 died. No one believed it could happen.

The Golden Age of Ornithology and Printmaking,” a new exhibit at the Galveston County Historical Museum, will open with a reception for Galveston Historical Foundation members at 7 p.m. on Saturday, March 15. The exhibit features work done in the late 18th and early 19th centuries, a time when a flowering of the scientific study of birds joined the newly perfected craft of printmaking.

Texas Race Week Returns July 24-26, 2008
More than 50 sail boats will race on the waters of the Gulf of Mexico during Texas Race Week, July 24-26, 2008. This event will happen in Galveston for a second consecutive year, after a very successful return to Galveston in 2007. There will be one race each day, and the recommended places to watch the races are East Beach, Stewart Beach, or a few miles down the Seawall.
