The Pier 21 Theater features two theatrical presentations: The Great Storm and The Pirate Island of Jean Lafitte.

The Great Storm is a 27-minute, powerful, multimedia documentary of the greatest disaster in Galveston history, the 1900 hurricane in which an estimated 6,000 people lost their lives. Don't leave Galveston without seeing this show!

The Pirate Island of Jean Lafitte asks was the famous islander a pirate or patriot? Smuggler or businessman? Merciless murderer and thief, or hero in time of war? These are the contradictions of the legendary Jean Laffite, and the premise of this 18-minute film directed by C. Grant Mitchell.

From Bolivar Peninsula:
Starting from Crystal Beach, travel approximately 10.7 miles to the Bolivar Ferry. Upon exiting the Ferry, take Ferry Road (SR-87) and head southeast approximately .9 miles. Turn right (west) onto Water St. (Ave. A). Travel approximately .2 miles and continue straight onto Harborside Dr. (Ave. A). Travel approximately 1.4 miles along Harborside Dr. to 21st St. (Moody Ave.). Turn right on 21st. Pier 21 and Harbor House will be directly in front of you.

From Houston:
Travel Interstate 45 South (Gulf Freeway) to the Galveston Causeway. Soon after crossing the Causeway, I-45 becomes Broadway (SR-87, Ave. J). Continue traveling along Broadway for approximately 2.8 miles. Turn left on 21st. St. (Moody Ave.) and travel north approximately .5 miles to Harborside Dr. Pier 21 and Harbor House will be directly in front of you, across Harborside Dr.
