Photo Three words say it all - pizza, pasta, seafood.

Not that this recently-updated classic doesn't make a mean chicken dish, but the folks who have returned again and again for 25 years have come for the food they grew up on. Hungry families know that an authentic New York flavor still pervades all the deck-oven pizza specialties, but now Mario's also carries wood-burning gourmet pizzas.

Pastas are a nice mix of old-fashioned (spaghetti) and new-fangled (like the Penne del Sol, with sun-dried tomatoes, spinach, garlic, and roma tomatoes.) Seafood sings, with shrimp, clams, mussels, crab, and snapper all taking center stage, or tossed with favorite pasta items.

Banquet facilities and meeting rooms available, along with free Galveston.com Wi-Fi (wireless internet).

Holly10/17/2008 10:31:00 AMWe stayed in Kemah before coming to Galveston but were dissapointed in the restaurants all being Landry's so we drove into Galveston a day early and went to Mario's, where I had eaten in the early 90's. Pleased they were still there, we splurged and spent over $80.00 but it was worth it! We had the cheese sticks with homemade marinara (to die for), margherita pizza, fettucini, cheese bread, salad, pina coladas, and got the lemon cheese spongecake to go which I ate at our hotel room back in Kemah. To die for again! Can't wait to come back in May and glad everything survived Ike!
Vicki10/16/2008 3:23:00 PMI hadn't been to Mario's in many years & remembered fondly the fabulous Mussels Marinara. I've never had them as good anywhere else. So when I learned that they were still open during a visit to Galveston in June, I had to eat there. The Mussels were not on the menu but the waitress was very nice & said that they would make them for me anyway. They were just as good as I remembered!! My daughter had pizza & it was very good too. I can't wait to visit again!
James Wilson8/11/2008 2:58:00 PMWe visited Mario's late last week. We enjoyed the wonderful Paradise salad - which, truly, is one of the most magnificent salads anywhere. I loved my perfectly-presented pork chops, and my friend had mussels. Absolutely delicious and am already looking forward to a return trip.
Linda8/10/2008 12:42:00 PMOn August the 1st, while staying at the Galvestonian, we called in to order pizza delivery. I was charged $118.00 for the following: 2 Cheese sticks, Calamari, small pizza, large pizza and 1 medium pizza, and 1 Calzone. The medium pizza alone was $19.80! We asked for some extra sauce for the cheese sticks and were charged $7.80! I called and contacted the manager on duty - Robert - he was extremely rude and even started yelling at one point. The pizza was awful. I am still requesting a refund. I have not gotten a call back.
kelly7/22/2008 4:45:00 PMI walked into this restuarant expecting a good Italian meal, and certainly did not get that. I should have known when the bread came out and it was stale, and definitely stor brought bread. My son had the lobster ravioli which contained no lobster, and was in a watery sauce because the raviolis had not been drained. I had chicken picatta which was the worst ever. It was in a sauce that tasted like butter and flour.I left 3/4 of the meal and the waitress said was everything alright? I said no, and she basically said to bad. Go to Lobellas not here. That is where we intended to go but they are closed on Mondays. Wendys would have tasted better.
Curtis Burga7/17/2008 11:20:00 AMWaited 10 minutes for a waiter, who finally showed up, and said "Hi, my name is...uhhhh..." and it just went downhill from there. We ordered our food, and after another 30 minutes, things started looking grim. The couple next to us called their waiter over, wanting to know where there food was. The waiter was sorry for the delay, and it would be just a few more minutes. The man at the table said "That's what you keep telling us!" Then our waiter came over, and said that there were delays in the kitchen, and there was "a whole stack of tickets" still waiting to be worked on. Ours hadn't even been started yet. I said, "Cancel the order," paid for our drinks (overpriced, as all restaraunts are these days), and left.
Barby7/7/2008 3:28:00 PMafter being seated, I asked if they were going to "toss' the pizzas, and the host stated...sometime but only if you are someone! strike one..drinks ordered right away but had to ask for them to be brought to us....strike two...ordered our meal and waited and waited...then had to ask for the food....my hubby got his...it was cold the manager stated it had been sitting watiting to be served...I NEVER got my salad I ordered...then on top of this really bad service and attitudes....the seated a woman who had BATHED in perfume...I'm allergic....strike three..I had a friend tell me about this place , but I will NEVER NEVER tell anyone to go here!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Michelle3/15/2008 10:02:00 AMFood was good.. service was HORRIBLE. To make matters worse I noticed a charge went through on my bank statement of my checking account for an amount that I did not authorize at Mario's Seawall. When I called the restaurant about the situation after I realized the charge was more than I authorized the staff there responded as if it were my fault it happened and that I was clearly over reacting and that if I had had a problem with the service I should have said something that evening. The person I spoke to said that I should put my fangs back in and listen to how it could possibly happen that the waitstaff could put an amount through on my card that was in error.
JASON3/13/2008 1:35:00 PMGreat menu! They are very good a what they do. Try the Lobster Ravioli's, the chef was making them upfront, when we came in. WOW!!
