Lost Bayou Guesthouse is a historic bed and breakfast located in Galveston, Texas. It is centrally located to the sandy beaches, the famous strand district, the cruise terminal and many restaurants.
This colonial-style home was originally built in 1890 as a one and half story, single-family residence. The 1900 hurricane floated the house off its foundation. The original house was raised up high enough to build a new level underneath. Upon completion in 1906, this home became a 2 1/2 story structure. The front of the house took a colonial look with a front porch on each level and four large columns on both levels.
Lost Bayou Guesthouse offers a relaxing and warm environment. With its tall ceilings, hardwood floors and large windows, it stands as a symbol of elegance in design, giving a feeling of openness, but retaining a feeling of warmth and comfort.
