Lafitte's Beat is located in the heart of the beautiful, historical Strand Shopping District. Lafitte's Beat offers a wide variety of specialty gifts, unique sea shells & coral, Galveston Island souvenirs, an excellent selection of beachwear, specialty Tees, windchimes, and children's toys and clothing.

Family-owned and operated since 1983, the shop recently added their new "pampered pet section," as well as a pirate section that would make Jean Lafitte proud.

In fact, the store is named after Jean Lafitte, the pirate who lived on Galveston Island in the early 1800's. Remember, "If it isn't Lafitte's, you've missed the Beat!"

From Bolivar Peninsula to The Strand:
Starting from Crystal Beach, travel approximately 10.7 miles to the Bolivar Ferry. Upon exiting the Ferry, take Ferry Road (SR-87) and head southeast approximately .9 miles. Turn right (west) onto Harborside Drive and travel approximately 1.5 miles. Turn left (south) onto 23rd Street (Tremont St.) and travel approximately .1 miles to The Strand (Ave. B).
