The Galveston Symphony Orchestra is dedicated to mastering and performing the full range of symphonic literature. This ensemble of highly skilled amateur and professional musicians has been bringing the unforgettable experience of live performances to Galveston audiences since 1979 with a repertoire of compositions ranging from the baroque to the contemporary. In the belief that symphonic music can be enjoyed by anyone who has the opportunity to hear it, the Galveston Symphony Orchestra presents programs that transcend boundaries of culture and differences in economic and educational background. The Orchestra rehearses every Sunday evening from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the College of the Mainland in Texas City, Texas and invites interested musicians to join its ranks. Tickets
Individual tickets for Galveston Symphony Orchestra performances are $15 for adults and $12 for senior citizens and students. UTMB (University of Texas Medical Branch) discount applies to individual tickets only.

Season tickets, which includes admission to all 2007-2008 performances, are only $60 for adults, a savings of $45 compared to purchasing individual tickets. Seniors citizens and students can purchase season tickets for only $40, less than half the price of individual tickets for all seven concerts.

From Bolivar Peninsula to The Grand 1894 Opera House:
Starting from Crystal Beach, travel approximately 10.7 miles to the Bolivar Ferry. Upon exiting the Ferry, take Ferry Road (SR-87) and head southeast approximately .9 miles. Turn right (west) onto Harborside Drive. Travel approximately 1.4 miles along Harborside Dr. Turn left (south) onto 23rd Street (Tremont St.) and travel approximately .3 miles to Postoffice St. (Ave. E).
