Celebrate Delicious!

The second annual Galveston.com & Company Galveston Restaurant Week - Sunday, January 13th to Saturday, January 26th, 2013 - brings Galveston Island's vibrant food scene to life for two full weeks of delicious dining. The event will showcase the freshest ingredients, most flavorful dishes and tastiest culinary gems that Galveston has to offer, as well as benefit the Galveston County Food Bank.

This year's presenting sponsor is Glazier Foods Company.

Home of the finest Gulf Coast seafood and some of Texas's most delectable restaurants, Galveston Island proudly welcomes you to Galveston Restaurant Week, where you can choose from Galveston's most delightful and delicious eateries for prix-fixe lunch and/or dinner menus - in attractive price points of $10, $15, $20, $25, $30, $35, $40, and $45, depending on the restaurant.

Last year's event featured 30 Galveston Island eateries, and resulted in a very welcome boost during the Island's slower season of winter. Forty-two restaurants have committed to the 2013 event.

Giving Back to the Community

Solving the problem of hunger in Galveston County is not just a matter of getting more food to the needy. It's a matter of getting more food to the organizations that serve the needy. And that's how Galveston Restaurant Week patrons can help! Area resident and visitors are encouraged to donate to the Galveston County Food Bank in multiple ways:

  1. Donate online at GalvestonRestaurantWeek.com
  2. Donate via mobile device! Simply text "Hunger" to 33733. You'll receive a confirmation text, with a link to a completely secure, mobile donation form.
  3. Donate during Galveston Restaurant Week at participating restaurants.

Please note: 100% of donations (minus credit card fees) will be given to the Galveston County Food Bank.

Eat, Click, and Share!

And to make this delectable week even more tasty? One lucky Instagramer will win a CRUISE GIVEAWAY FOR 2, for capturing "Best Instagram" in the Galveston Restaurant Week #CelebrateDelicious Photo Contest.

Since summer, visitors to Galveston.com and GalvestonRestaurantWeek.com have been encouraged to post photos to Instagram that best represents what Galveston Island cuisine means to them - and tag them #CelebrateDelicious. Entries ranged from photos depicting particular restaurants; favorite restaurant entrees, waiters, and chefs; to views of outdoor events, picnics, neighborhoods, and festivals. Entries conveyed qualities of Galveston that make the city a unique and an exciting place to eat.

Afterward, a jury selected 21 Finalists and 1 Grand Prize Winner during the judging period. The Grand Prize Winner will be announced - and all Finalists will be spotlighted - January 19, 2013 at a special ArtWalk event at The Grand 1894 Opera House's Edna's Room, held in conjunction with Galveston Restaurant Week.

The Cleverley Show

The Cleverley Show

As a correspondent and broadcaster, Cleverley Stone covers the food, wine, and dining beat like no one else in the Houston metro area. She started her newsletter, Cleverley's Newsletter, in 1997. On the radio since 2003, she hosts The Cleverley Show on CBS Radio 650 in Houston, Texas. She has been a regular contributor to Fox 26 Morning News since February 2008, cooking up delicious dishes with Houston's top chefs. Active in the community, Cleverley founded Houston Restaurant Week in 2003, benefiting the Houston Food Bank. The event has grown to be the city's largest charity dining event, taking place in over 162 restaurants throughout the Houston area simultaneously.

Galveston Restaurant Week is thrilled to host The Cleverley Show live at Pier 21 in Galveston, January 19th, 9am to noon. The public is invited to attend the live show, generously underwritten by Mitchell Historic Properties and Pier 21.

Participating in Galveston Restaurant Week is easy! There are no passes to buy, no coupons to carry, and no cards to punch, only a quick call to the restaurant of your choice to make reservations; then simply dine out during the period January 13-26. Reservations are strongly recommended to make sure you're able to sample your favorite flavors! The public is invited to experience cuisine that will amplify your palate and highlight the fun of dining on Galveston Island. Quite simply, this new culinary tradition promises to "celebrate delicious!" like no other event of the year.
