| Rating | Rated by | Date | Review | | Kristina | 7/24/2008 3:48:00 PM | My family and I stayed last weekend at the Flagship and we were very disappointed. In my opinion it was no worth $493 for 3 nights. The elevators were scary and made horrible noises and took forever. Our Shower head was broke, the shower knob was broke and we had to let the water run for an hour before it would get hot to take a bath. Oh and the crane game in the game room is rigged where you can't win anything. This hotel needs a lot of work! | | Sherry | 7/22/2008 7:19:00 PM | What a way to wake up in the morning! We pulled back the curtains to see a splendid view of the sparkling Gulf of Mexico--fantastic! We fed the sea gulls from our balcony (Cheez-its in mid-air!). Everyone was very accommodating, and our room was clean. Okay, it's not the Hilton. It is old, to be sure, but that added to the quaintness of the entire experience. We loved it! | | Heather | 7/21/2008 1:06:00 AM | The view was breathtaking & the price affordable. Our room was clean, but we did have roaches on our balcony at night-none in the room though. The hotel was charming, but the elevators were in rough shape. They are working on updating it. We enjoyed our stay overall & it was great being able to watch the sun rise over the water & walk to the beach everyday. | | Jeff & Emily | 7/13/2008 10:19:00 PM | We stayed at the Flagship after the 4th of July and had a blast! The staff (especially manager Jeff) were very accomodating. You can NOT get a better view! Our room was very clean! We had no problems with anything. The hotel is charming, historic and we'll definately stay there again! | | Rachel | 7/5/2008 3:47:00 PM | I thought the service was good. Our room was very clean... including the bathroom. I didn't see any roaches. The view from our room was awesome. We stayed on the 4th of July and didn't have to leave our room to see the fireworks display. The area around the pool needs to better lit... espescially the stairwell up to the pool. | | Evelyn | 6/23/2008 6:11:00 PM | The hotel is old and not well taken care of. Maybe the owners could put a little money back into their investment and not have un-suspecting people spend good money for a lousy room. The elevators were not up to code and won't be until 2010. Someone actually got stuck in one of them for 2 hours the day I was there. I could have stayed at a much nicer place for the same or less money but wanted the experience of the Flagship! Never again! They need to upgrade their mattresses also. Never had a worse nights' sleep. Had the advertising been truthful, I wouldn't have spent my money there, not for just 1 room, but 2! | | Vicki Smith | 6/19/2008 8:08:00 PM | The room was filthy, the elevator was filthy and made a horrible noise. The room stank of mildew, the bathroom was small, no counter space, and dirty. We left, did not even stay the night. | | Sarah | 6/16/2008 1:35:00 PM | Absolutely unacceptable in everyway. The smell, the mold, the chipped paint and plaster, the rickety elevators, the sliding glass door that was off the hinges and bird crap all over it, the crackhead tweaking out in the hallway. So nasty we didn't even put our stuff down. We turned right back around and went back to the front desk for a refund and left. It could be a nice place but obviously has the worst ownership and management ever. I will say that the frontdesk staff, all two of them, and apparently the only staff in the hotel that we could see, were very accomodating our refund request. They didn't even ask for an explanation...Wonder why?? | | Joey | 6/1/2008 11:57:00 AM | pros....
1. room rate
2. view
3. service(young man at front desk & the attendant.)
cons.....
1. no air conditioning.
2. keys didnt work.
then changed rooms....
3. no shower head
4. keys still didnt work.
This is a hotel that has seen better days. It has its good points and bad points. The bottom line is that this place needs some TLC. Hopefully the owners will read the reviews here and invest some money into the hotel and make it great again. | | Clint | 5/24/2008 10:38:00 AM | The Flagship definitely isn't what it used to be!!
1. Had to switch rooms because the plumbing stopped up
2. Strangers walked right into our new room because they were given the same room
3. Got locked out, our key didn't work for some reason
4. ROACHES!!!!!
5. Got locked out AGAIN!!!!!
Also, very poor service!!! | | Sandy | 5/22/2008 2:22:00 PM | We recently also stayed here. It was def not what we expected and like the one said before, they definately had the roaches (there was one that was on our bed, YUCK!) Anyways, just depends on what you like, but I def want come back. . . | | Ashley | 5/21/2008 11:24:00 AM | I don't know what everyone's problem is but I LOVED this hotel! It is old, yes, but it is so unique! Very clean and very large room. Shower was better than the one at my house!! Even had an antique smell like an old book. The view is priceless!!! Where else can you sit on your balcony and watch dolphins while you eat lunch. We had a west side room and kept the slidding glass door open to allow the cool ocean breeze in, even at night! You can stay at any Ramada or Hilton anywhere in the world, but there's only one Flagship! I will be back for sure!!! | | Melissa | 5/18/2008 11:47:00 PM | This is indeed an old hotel and has an awesome view. It was more run down than I had expected, but was willing to stay for the price and location. That is until the roaches started crawling around the room! That was the end of that for me. I called the Ramada Limited across the street and got a better room for a better price. Really it depends on your tolerance level on whether or not you should stay at the Flagship Hotel. | | mike yeh | 5/16/2008 1:31:00 AM | i love it !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! | | Matt | 4/21/2008 8:14:00 AM | The hotel is indeed old, but in a way that retains most of the charm. The room was clean, comfortable, and larger than I had really expected. We were on the top floor, so the view was not to be believed. Definitely recommended. The one star drop comes from the locals, who seem to have taken over the seawall and blare loud music constantly, but that's not really the hotel's fault. | | Angela | 3/18/2008 6:05:00 PM | This hotel is great we went during the summer and we loved the view of the ocean. | | Chasdiy | 3/7/2008 10:34:00 AM | This is a great hotel. Old but its clean it has a great view of the ocean. We actually woke up to a dolphin feeding below our room. Best experience of my life. | | Kevin Daniels | 3/6/2008 8:39:00 AM | THis is a local hotel, great view, people and close to every thing. |
