Photo Angling Adventures, based in Galveston, is a top-of-the-line guide service on the Texas Gulf Coast. Whether you prefer bay fishing for speckled trout, redfish, and flounder; beachfront fishing for tarpon, shark, kingfish and jackfish; or offshore in the Gulf of Mexico chasing snapper, kingfish, ling and dorado, Angling Adventures will make the trip you desire become a reality.

Bay Fishing
When fishing in the bay, the main catch consists of speckled trout, redfish, and flounder, which are all caught on a variety of artificial baits, such as bass assassins, mirolures, topwaters, and basic shrimptails.

From the boat is drifted numerous amounts of shell pads under the surface of the water. Certain times of the year the team works groups of birds for fast and furious action for trout and redfish, chasing pods of shrimp and shad. Bay trips run all year round.

Bull Redfish
Bull Redfish run the Galveston jetties during the spring and fall and can make for some very fast action.

Redfish run from 15 to 40 pounds, and it's not uncommon to catch 20 to 30 per day.

Most of these fish are found on the beachfront or jetties and caught on dead shad or mullet and occasionally on artificial plugs on the beach. Redfish are known for their strength and schooling capabilities.

The limit on redfish is 3 per person, minimum 20 inches long, max 28 inches long. You can keep one fish over 28 inches per year.

These fish make for 15-20 minutes of fun when catching them on terminal tackle, with 15-20 lb.

Giant Tarpon Fishing
July through October is the most anticipated time of year, due to the arrival of the tarpon (silver king). The main goal for Angling Adventures’ customers is to hook up and catch one of these amazing fish.

Tarpon are probably one of the most sought after fish in the world, basically because of the aerial acrobatics and pure strength. Angling Adventures has customers come from all over to try and catch these bruisers.

Depending on the conditions, Angling Adventures has hook-ups with tarpon either by drifting whole menhaden, by dropping jigs, or by site casting at rolling schools. On calm days they cast plugs such as large mirolures, coast hawks, and rattle traps.

Offshore Fishing
Most of Angling Adventures' offshore fishing is done over rocks and wrecks scattered out over the bottom of the Gulf of Mexico, anywhere from 12 to 50 miles from port. Other structures are rigs and pipe stems used for the mining of gas and oil.

Bottom fishing for snapper and drift lining for kingfish are the typical strategies to entice the fish to bite.

Angling Adventures uses artificial and natural baits offshore. For cover from the summer sun, the t-top provides plenty of shade.

Shark Fishing
During the months of June through October large and numerous schools of shark, such as blacktips, tiger, bull, and hammerheads gang up on the shallow waters of the Galveston beachfront.

These fish run from 10 to 350 lbs. and range in lengths from 3 to 8 feet. During the summer it is not uncommon to catch 10 to 30 sharks in the given time frame.

Sharks provide some of the most exciting fishing around, with the pure strength they have and their jumping ability.

These trips are good for kids and couples because it is fast action and easy fishing.
