island e.t.c. presents Paula Vogel's The Oldest Profession, May 9th thru June 7th, 2008. The time is 1981, and the New York economy is weak. Still trying to eke out a living - though they all could qualify for an AARP card - are five veteran "ladies of the night" who have something of a communal business arrangement. At times grow tougher and the ladies' elderly clientele grows increasingly impotent, business sags. And the women increasingly find themselves in a state of turmoil.
Performances will be Thursday, Friday, and Saturday evenings at 8:00pm and Sunday afternoons at 2:30pm. Tickets are $25.00 for adults and $20.00 for students and senior citizens.
For tickets or further information, call etc at (409) 762-3556 or (888) 762-3556. Or visit the east-end theatre company website at www.islandetc.org.
