Galveston's 32 miles of sun-drenched beaches are ideal places for numerous sports and leisure activities. To ensure the safety of visitors, the City of Galveston and the Galveston Park Board of Trustees have banned alcohol consumption from most public beaches and the Seawall, with the exception of licensed concession areas.

Open March thru mid-October, Stewart Beach is a family-oriented beach offering a children's playground, umbrella and chair rentals, volleyball courts, an outdoor pavilion with a snack bar, souvenir shop, restrooms, and showers.
