Sharks in Depth


Moody Gardens Aquarium Pyramid, One Hope Boulevard:  Sharks In Depth explores shark fact versus fiction, anatomy and behavior through a series of hands-on activities. Visitors will learn how a shark survives without a swim bladder, how they sense prey through vibrations and smell, what currently threatens shark populations, and more.

Birding 101


Moody Gardens Aquarium Pyramid, One Hope Boulevard:  Galveston is home to hundreds of species of birds. Egrets, herons, ducks, hawks and gulls are a few who spend time on the Island. Those interested in learning more about area birds are invited to Moody Gardens for Birding 101. Birding 101 is a series of free classes designed to educate and excite people about the tremendous variety of bird life in the area. Birding 101 classes, held on the second Saturday of every month, teaches the basics of birding.
