Photo Moody Gardens® invites guests to dive into four oceans of the world. Explore the complex beauty and seemingly endless species of marine life in the North Pacific, South Pacific, South Atlantic and Caribbean at the Aquarium at Moody Gardens®. Large touch tanks and jewel tanks feature the vivid beauty of the ocean world and provide underwater classrooms and learning opportunities for people of all ages.

The architecture is inspired by Moody Garden's existing pyramid concept. The blue glass pyramid reaches more than 12-stories high. Built on two viewing levels, guests will stroll up and down walkways to experience the exhibits from above and below the water's surface.

The Four Oceans of the Aquarium Pyramid:

  • The Caribbean: Guests navigate through an underwater tunnel completely surrounded by the exhibit's one-million gallons of water. Visitors get a diver's eye view of the Caribbean habitat through an underwater dome, which allows them to see from every angle the exhibit's coral-covered ocean floor and assorted inhabitants including snappers, eels, sharks, seabass and other colorful creatures.
  • The South Atlantic:
  • Hours can be spent outside the windows of the frigid Antarctic exhibit as our beautiful King, Chinstrap, Rockhopper and Gentoo penguins swim about in their home. The exhibit is true-to-life and patterned closely to the rocky beaches of South Georgia Island, the penguin's native habitat. Guests will chuckle at the playful penguins on two levels - above and below the frigid Antarctic waters. Caves under the ice sheet allow visitors to see the penguins in their natural habitat.

  • The North Pacific:
  • At the cold fertile waters of the North Pacific exhibit, observe playful fur and harbor seals from above and below water as they play on the rocky shore and dive below the water's surface. A tide pool with sea urchins, anemones and other colorful marine creatures is only a few feet away. A spectacular kelp forest will showcase the rich and diverse underwater world from Northern California to the Gulf of Alaska.

  • The South Pacific:
  • This large exhibit features a serene tide pool with vivid sea anemones and sea urchins. Stroll to the lower level for an underwater view of these sparkling waters and come face-to-face with more than 200 species of fish and their beautiful complex environment. Gaze in awe as schools of fish, stingrays and small sharks glide past each other. Diver-to-guest communication ensures visitors will learn more about the marine life making their home in this unique and colorful coral wonderland.
