The Tremont House celebrates the 26th Annual Mardi Gras Ball & Parade Viewing Party “A Chinese New Year” This ball will entertain you with a full schedule of live music, dining and parade viewing. 6 to 8 p.m. - Enjoy dancing to the sounds of Austin’s favorite Latin dance band, The Brew in the hotel’s lobby 6 to 9 p.m. - Dine on an array of Asian dishes in the hotel’s Sam Houston Room while listening to a live performance by the world renown Dr. Michael White Jazz Quartet 8 p.m. - Step outside to watch the Momus Grand Night Parade in Galveston’s premier viewing party 9 p.m. - Following the parade, ball goers will continue the party in the hotel’s ballroom across the street with a performance by Chinese cultural dancers Lee’s Golden Dragon Dance Troupe from Houston 9:30 p.m. - Continue to dance the night away to the sounds of Eclipse Band and Orchestra 11 p.m. - Breakfast will be served in the ballroom as Eclipse continues to play through midnight Attire: Theme Costume or Black Tie Required |

Enjoy an extravagant array of savory Asian dishes, an open bar, and first rate entertainment by New Orleans' jazz great Dr. Michael White and Quartet, Houston's Eclipse Band and Orchestra, and Austin's favorite Latin dance band, The Brew. The evening is hosted by the George Mitchell Family who re-instated elaborate city-wide celebrations of Mardi Gras in 1985 with the grand opening of The Tremont House.
