Galveston.com & Company Debuts New SMS Services for Tourists & Businesses

[ November 26, 2012 ] - Galveston.com & Company, creator of the official website of Galveston Island tourism, today announced that it is introducing Galveston.com SMS Services, powered by the company's state-of-the-art mobile marketing platform. Galveston.com SMS delivers visitor information to tourists, as well as provides marketing opportunities for businesses.

The launch in Galveston consists of two mobile programs:

Weekly Galveston Island Tourism Text Alerts
1-on-1 Mobile Marketing Solutions for Galveston organizations and businesses

The service allows tourists to text GALV to 33733 to receive weekly text alerts.

Additionally, Galveston.com SMS allows Galveston businesses an affordable entry into the mobile marketing arena by utilizing shared short code technology. Galveston.com & Company now provides the service, experience, and statistical analysis to set up any business who wishes to market directly via mobile to Galveston Island visitors.

According to Galveston.com's President, Lee Roane, the possibilities of SMS technology for Galveston are impressive.

"Say, for example, you own a restaurant. With your own unique keyword set up by Galveston.com, your customers can opt-in for daily specials, or birthday deals," says Roane. "And since the internet and your phone work hand-in-hand, this great new service will also be a perfect fit for resort rental and real estate companies as well!"

Galveston.com SMS made its debut at this month's Epicurean Evening, held at Moody Gardens Convention Center. Over 1000 attendees were able to cast their votes for one of the evening's top awards by utilizing the service.
